Students will pick the opening film clip from the movie and identify the elements of the mise en scene in the sequence.
They will select still frames from the movie to support each element and identify its characteristics (Setting = Location, time of day, time period, etc.).
Film producers encode messages in their films and document the messages each still frame communicates by using each element.

First Paragraph
The assignment was to pick out a movie that was five years old or younger. Then, analyze the movie's opening scene, me and my partner pick a movie called Sonic the Hedgehog 2. This movie's genre are action, and adventure, but mainly adventure. The movie starts on the mushroom planet where we see the beautiful sunrise of the planet, then we see someone making a drink and it is none other than Eggman. when Eggman got transported to the planet he used the quill he got from Sonic in their final fight in the first movie to power things to get back to Earth, but when Eggman used Sonic's quill to power something, the energy from Sonic's quill surges around the whole mushroom planet. When Eggman got knocked out scavengers came and when they saw Eggman they tried to surround him but Eggman had set up traps to knock them out so when Eggman runs to the golden ring, but a mysterious figure comes out of the ring and asks him where did he get that blue quill from and then the opening scene ends.
